Meet the Artist
April Alayne
April was born right outside of Baltimore, MD. She is a self taught artist and has been painting and drawing since she could hold onto a brush. Her favorite things to draw are hair, people and ideas. She thrives on fine lines and details. She also greatly enjoys drawing foliage, animals and personifying otherwise every day objects. She draws inspiration from floriography, emotions, colors, movement — basically life.
She joined the cosmetology world thriving on connecting with clients and making them feel like their best self. Working in that field for over 12 years she weaved in creating art simultaneously. She sold her work at tattoo conventions, comic cons, art fairs and street markets across the US until she eventually she became self employed.
April opened her first store front in Baltimore MD. She hosted inclusive galleries to connect the creative community. The shop was closed 3 years later so she could live life in the south. Today she is splitting her time between Louisiana and Maryland and is blending her professions to run Always April Studio.
